“생명의 본질은 피고 지는 것에 있다”는 슬로건 아래 활동하는 현대미술 작가 유미영은, 자연이 주는 위로와 생명의 흐름을 플루이드 아트로 표현한다. ‘Saltlight’는 ‘소금에서 나는 빛’이라는 뜻으로, 스며들고 사라지면서도 존재를 밝히는 예술가로서의 정체성을 담은 이름이다.
그녀의 작업은 시각에만 머무르지 않는다. 작품의 표면을 손끝으로 만지고, 천연 오일 향기를 맡고, 작품의 리듬에 맞춘 음악을 듣고, 때로는 티 소믈리에와의 협업으로 직접 마시는 경험까지 제공한다. 이러한 방식은 관람객이 예술을 ‘감상하는 것’을 넘어 ‘사는 것’으로 전환시킨다.

In the future, I wish to explore ‘Disappearance and Trace’ more deeply. I see the very process of a work wearing away and vanishing through countless hands as an art form itself. I aim to practice participatory art, inviting viewers as co-creators to make art together. She hopes her art becomes a memory lingering within the senses. Even as the work wears away and disappears, she hopes it remains as a comforting touch, a memory of emotion, a trace of life.
